Danish designer Urd Moll Gundermann took inspiration from classic tailoring techniques when developing her Seam rug for Normann Copenhagen. Influenced by her background in fashion, the rug expertly balances experimentation with precision, resulting in a design that is both timeless and innovative.
Reflecting tailoring constructions – suits, weaving methods, layering and pattern details – the Seam rug from Normann Copenhagen features intricate yet large-scale stitching details that lend the flooring a grid-like motif and create a compelling sense of rhythm and dimension.
One of two rugs by Gundermann (the second being the Level rug), the Seam rug from Normann Copenhagen is made from 100 per cent wool and features an organic cotton warp. Pleasantly soft underfoot, the rug is hand-woven using traditional techniques and available in two colours – a steely blue with yellow stitching and a muted grey with black stitching.
The Seam rug from Normann Copenhagen is available in four sizes, ranging from 80 by 250 centimetres to 250 by 350 centimetres, allowing it to fit seamlessly in a variety of spaces, from the front hall to the dining room or family room.
With a sophisticated style and hardy construction, the Seam rug also complements a number of different interiors, from minimalist and Scandinavian-inspire, formal and informal to classic and more traditional spaces.
