A special edition of the smart indoor herb gardens by Norwegian brand Auk, the Auk Mini Cork features a natural cork base that lends a pleasant warmth to the kitchen countertop accessory.
Founded in Oslo by Marius Aabel, Auk creates Scandinavian-designed smart systems that make growing herbs, greens and tomatoes at home easy and fuss-free. The Auk Mini Cork by Aurk is no exception.
Like the other models available (with an oak or walnut base), the Auk Mini Cork uses hydroponics to harvest fresh herbs and vegetables all year long, even in the coldest of climates. Designed with the brand’s innovative EverGrow system, the Auk Mini establishes an ideal growing condition through controlled full-spectrum LED light and a self-watering mechanism, and the garden requires little effort to maintain while producing robust yields of a variety of greens and other vegetables.
Planted in a coconut coir material, the seeds (either Auk’s own or any other) are automatically fed by the water reservoir concealed behind the cork (or oak or walnut) base and are further enhanced by an included special liquid nutrient set that is added to the water.
The Auk Mini Cork is a stylish and compact kitchen accessory, pairing the sustainably sourced cork base with either a white or black tray with planting pods made from recyclable ABS. Two vertical dowels hold the aluminum bar light source, which can be easily lowered or raised to provide just the right amount of light to the growing plants.
Developed with sustainability as a top priority, the Auk Mini Cork is made from Norwegian raw aluminum, locally sourced wood and bioplastics, and each unit arrives in plastic-free, 100 per cent recyclable packaging. Auk will also reclaim any used units to be recycled.
