Designed by Barcelona-based Francesc Rifé Studio, the Urmus office chair from Blasco&Vila intentionally explores “formal simplicity, artisanal precision and comfort as a language.”
With the Urmus office chair from Blasco&Villa, Francsec Rifé wanted to reduce the design to its essential structure and removed any and all superfluous gestures in order to focus on what remained – proportion, stability and a direct and intuitive relationship with the body.
Conceived as an open system, the Urmus office chair from Blasco&Villa has been created with different typologies and configurations that still share a common formal DNA. For instance, in some iterations, the structure is elevated to a more prominent role by extending and wrapping around the backrest, drawing a continuous gesture that envelopes the body.
In some versions, upholstery covers the arms while in others, they are left exposed; the Urmus office chair from Blasco&Villa is also available with a variety of bases that include a 5-wheel adjustable base, a flat swivel base and a 4-leg wooden base.
Crafted by local artisans in Moixent, Spain (in the province of Valencia), the Urmus office chair highlights craftsmanship and attention to detail and promotes conscious production. Considered a timeless proposal, the office chair serves as a tool in service of space and everyday experiences.
A wide range of textile options are available for the upholstery portions of the Urmus office chair, while the wood elements are offered in black ash, natural ash and bosco ash. All metal pieces are available in black.
