Kicking off tomorrow, IIDEX features over 350 exhibitors of flooring, lighting, furniture and textiles for the office. Here are 10 launches – by Borgo, Ceragres and Nienkämper and others – on our radar.
1 Privèe by Borgo
With its detachable canopy, made of two-millimetre-thin steel pipe, the Privèe collection of sofas and tables offers more than just privacy. Possible configurations incorporate a side table with an attached partition, making it easy to define interior spaces and direct traffic.
2 Atelier Collection by European Flooring
This line includes more than 30 varieties of oil-finished wide-plank hardwood flooring. In addition to straight planks, the collection includes a number of patterns, including a chevron (shown).
3 TT Side Tables and Trays by Adele-C
Designed by Ron Gilad, these frame-like side tables equipped with trays can be clustered to create an array of arrangements. The tables, made of steel, are available in red, pale grey and blue, while the trays – both circular and rectangular – come in Italian walnut or lacquered in opaque orange or grey.
4 In-Essence Collection by Ceragres
The raw textures of wood, concrete and stone are the inspiration for Ceragres’s In-Essence collection of porcelain tiles. The collection’s Composto line was specified for the lobby of Amsterdam’s Conservatorium hotel (shown), designed by Piero Lissoni.
5 Harvest Table Charging Station by Allsteel
For those who need to reboot their smart phones, tablets and sore feet, Allsteel equips its Harvest tables with charging stations. The table is flanked by Take-5 stools from Allsteel’s Gather collection.
6 Net Effect by Interface
Interface carpet tiles will pop up all over the show floor, at other exhibitor booths and in IIDEX’s Heathcare and Hospitality lounges. In its own booth, Interface will present Net Effect, a collection that incorporates material recycled from discarded fishing nets gathered from the shores of the Philippines.
7 Juxta by Keilhauer
After winning a gold award for seating at Chicago’s NeoCon last June, Juxta takes the spotlight in Toronto. The line includes stools, tables and chairs, including a high-backed lounger (shown). A built-in ledge easily moves from one side to the other to accommodate left-handed sitters.
8 Western Edge Collection by Bentley Mills
Bentley’s Southern Edge collection includes 36 colour arrangements drawn from the American south’s wide open spaces. Although the palette is based on combinations of neutral tones such as sand and slate, it also includes such spicier notes as the deep reds of the Scorpion Queen colourway in the collection’s Hitchhiker line (shown).
9 Gateway by Nienkämper
This year, Nienkämper will unveil of a range of stylish workplace furniture designed by Danish duo Busk+Hertzog. Gateway, which includes tables, media walls, lounge seating and accessories, seamlessly incorporates technological capabilities into a flexible contemporary space.
10 Special Feature: The Bunkie
Making its world debut at IIDEX, the Bunkie is a self-contained guest house designed by Evan Bare and Nathan Buhler of The Bunkie Company. Made from fir plywood, the 10-square-metre shelter can be assembled in a day and is outfitted with flat-packed tables and chairs.
