Spherical Bed by Carl Hansen & Søn

Considered a “mathematical stroke of genius” for its astonishingly precise dimensions, the Spherical bed by Kaare Klint was introduced in 1938 and remains one of the architect’s most complex and time-consuming designs: Now in production, each double-sized bed takes Carl Hansen & Søn’s skilled cabinetmakers and apprentices one month to craft by hand.

Tube Lounge Chair by Normann Copenhagen

Normann Copenhagen head designer Simon Legald took inspiration from the bodacious Memphis movement when devising his Tube lounge chair. Familiar yet unexpected, the chair contrasts hard elements with soft — two chunky, sandblasted steel tubes have a pleasing curvature and form the base for a generously padded seat cushion.

John Pawson Dining Series by Dinesen

A stunning showcase of minimalist rigour, the Dining series by John Pawson for Dinesen includes a table, bench and stool — the latter two designs each made from a single plank of planed Douglas fir. Part of the larger Pawson Furniture collection launched at 3daysofdesign 2024, which is based on 1992 designs for his own house, the pieces encapsulate the poetic essence of the designer and the skilled craftsmanship of the maker.

Center Center by String Furniture

Initially developed by Form Us With Love to solve its own studio’s storage issues, Center Center for String Furniture is a system of perforated sheet metal boxes that brings fluidity to a traditionally static model. Six sizes of modules (and coordinating accessories) can be stacked horizontally, vertically or three-dimensionally in a multitude of ways, then easily rearranged as needs and spaces change. The platform is offered in eight striking colourways, including the Chrome Green shown.
