As a household name, Canadian designer Alfred Sung is best known for fashion and fragrances, but a number of licensing deals across the 61-year-old’s career have touched on everything from eyewear to furniture. SUNG Outdoor, a new line of patio pieces, will be released in March in partnership with Mimran Group. The 18-piece collection, comprised of chairs, tables, and lounges in various sizes, will be priced from $99 for a side table to $1299 for a dining set. In the tradition of Mimran’s successful labels (Club Monaco, Caban), the classic-modern collection takes its cues from lifestyle destinations with proven legs – Paris, Capri, Riviera, Madrid and Barcelona – and is none the worse for it. Materials are synthetic, with hand-woven faux wicker over aluminum frames, and Dacron-covered padding. Completing this triage of Canadian brands, the line will be stocked at 339-year-old retailer The Bay.
