The Innovators Issue: Junya Ishigama's genre-busting architecture, Sidewalk Labs and the future of the city, and more!

For those who need to check their email (that’d be all of us) but want to avoid insane roaming fees, Azure is bringing a Wi-Fi hot spot to MOST, the Tom Dixon-instigated venue in Milan’s Museum of Science and Technology, during Milan design week.

Located in the restored cloister of a former monastery dating from the sixteenth century, Azure’s hot spot will be defined by a five-and-a-half-metre-long picnic table, courtesy of the Belgian firm Extremis. Sharing the cloister with the bar/café, the spectacularly long table promises to be an ideal venue for enjoying a drink or a snack while pondering the irony in the countless chairs at the Salone del Mobile and mostly nowhere to sit.

While you’re cooling your heels in the inspiring space, contemplating the folly of google-mapping the too-many off-site events, we’ll have iPads on hand for browsing and to show off the digital version of the magazine. Drop by and sign up for a free sample digital issue and have it delivered directly to your in-box.

Besides Tom Dixon – who will showcase, amongst other things, a collaboration with Adidas – participants at MOST this year include Fab, Stellar Works, Dassault Systems, HfG Offenbach, School of Form, Hugo Passos, Lorens, The British Council, Studio Job for Lensvelt, Oskar Zieta, Resident, Tokyo Bussanten, and Piet Hein Eek.

MOST, Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia, Via Olona 6B, Milan. Hours: Tues. April 9, 10 am to 9 pm; Thurs. April 11 – Sat. April 13, 10 am to 9 pm; Wed. April 10 and Sun. April 14, 10 am to 6 pm.
