Listening
As a teen, I was fascinated by British pop music – My Bloody Valentine, Ride, the Boo Radleys – because they were so independent. We’re a little like this, Erwan and I. We try to control everything we do.

Instagram is one of the few apps I use. I check it every couple of days, but I never post. I just look at what people post with #Bouroullec. I’ve found incredible photos of sofas we designed in people’s homes. It’s amazing feedback.

Watching
Sean Penn’s Into the Wild is incredibly strong on some big themes. We don’t understand the world we live in. The film is not claiming that we should go back to nature – more that we need to reset the balance at a certain point.
