Strikingly vibrant and easy to customize, these three tile collections by Artaic, Livden and Clé transform staid environments into stunning showpieces.
Capturing the free-spirited energy of the Californian coastline, the two-pattern Del Mar collection of sustainable ivory porcelain tiles by Livden is defined by the high-intensity and playful colours and shapes that are found at local beaches and surf spots.
Scaling down and repeating its namesake shape, Longboard (above) makes a vibrant beachy statement in a range of interiors, both private and public.
Meanwhile, Jetty (above and top), renders the San Diego coastline and Pacific currents into a geometric form that can be used to create customized installations by flipping and rotating the lines in any direction. Both of the 12’ by 12’ patterns are offered in four scene-stealing colourways.
One of three new designs to be included in Artaic’s Flourish collection of floral mosaics, Oasis brings the inherent beauty of the natural world to both interiors and exteriors. Inspired by watercolour paintings of the Australian waxflower, the design team translated the delicate flower into textural murals with layers of varying colour transparency.
Made of vitreous glass, sintered glass or natural stone tiles, Oasis is highly durable and easy to clean and can be applied to a variety of spaces, from walls, floors and ceilings to patios and pool linings. The eye-catching composition is assembled using the brand’s proprietary robotic fabrication system and software and is offered in a palette of six soothing colourways – Lavender, Mist, Wisteria, Spring, Dawn Stone and Whisper – with the capability for each to be completely customized for colour and scale.
Marking a departure from its “safe” neutral monochromes, Clé has recently launched a colour-saturated collection of tiles that significantly pumps up the volume. Called Cinema Collection: Mythology, the series of textured handcrafted cement tiles is organized into seven “colour stories,” with each representing a distinct mood and which can be mixed and matched to create evocative atmospheres.
Each “mythology” is offered in bundles of two or three 8’ by 8’ tiles, which in turn feature three tonal groupings – shades, neutrals and vibrants – that complement and contrast, depending on how they are arranged. Named Foxglove, Dartmoor, Flanders, Oz, Wildwood, Wonderland and Salon, the colour families range from fresh spring notes and watery blues and greys to moody earth tones, musky pastels and more. A total of 47 pairings are possible, allowing for personalized colour narratives.
From a larger-than-life floral to highly saturated solids and graphic motifs, these new tile series invigorate any setting.
