Before and after trophies were awarded to the winners of the 5th annual AZ Awards, the gala was a scene of design-infused revelry. Guests flew in from across Canada, the U.S. and Europe – and as far away as Sri Lanka and the UAE – to mingle beneath a massive suspended installation.
This impressive sculpture was crafted from orange safety fencing by Toronto’s DTAH – the same architectural firm that oversaw the renovation of the historic Evergreen Brick Works over the past decade.
There were plenty of delicacies on hand: sumptuous eats, plenty of bubbly, even a stand featuring croquembouche, petit fours and freshly spun cotton candy courtesy of Nadège, the city’s finest French patisserie. After a ceremony hosted by writer Ian Brown of the Globe and Mail, guests partied into the night.
