Every year, the AZ Awards celebrates the best in every major discipline, from architecture and landscape architecture to interiors, product design and concepts. In 2020, we’re marking a major milestone – our 10^th annual AZ Awards program – on top of celebrating the magazine’s 35^th anniversary.

It’s been an exceptional year in more ways than one. We received more submissions to the awards program, which launched in January, than ever before. But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we had to improvise. Our jury members – Luca Nichetto, Stephanie Davidson, Omar Gandhi, Mia Lehrer and Marion Weiss – were asked to weigh in from their homes in Stockholm, Toronto, Los Angeles and New York as we convened our first-ever remote deliberation process. The online approach may not have been business as usual, but the jury’s commitment to the task at hand – and the high caliber of projects they surveyed – made this year as exciting as every other.

The new normal means that we are also recalibrating our AZ Awards calendar. And we’re eager to finally share our plans with you.

Here are the new dates for the 2020 AZ Awards:

May 7

Finalists will be announced online on azuremagazine.com, on AZURE’s social channels, on the AZ Awards website and by the AZ Awards media partners.

May 14

People’s Choice voting opens and will run until June 19, 2020.

September 18

Winners and finalists will be celebrated during the 2020 AZ Awards Gala. Tune in later to find out more.

The winners will be announced at the Gala in September and published in the AZ Awards Annual – Azure’s October issue – which will hit on newsstands end of September.
