Architecture After the Fires: LA in Progress

SCI-Arc’s Resilient Futures Task Force is opening a call for submissions of architectural plans and concepts in the zones recently affected by wildfires. The multi-day event showcases the current state of architectural adaptation as it unfolds under conditions of heightened fire risk. If a participant’s project is selected, they will have ample time to submit their materials. SCI-Arc will give clear dimensions and spatial constraints for installation and will offer model bases and screens on a first-come, first-served basis.

Submission Requirements

  • 10-page landscape-oriented PDF
  • Page 1: Establishing Image of your project with its Location and Typology listed
  • Page 2: Project date, size, program and narrative (250 words max)
Pages 3-10: Project images both interior and exterior, diagrams, drawings, plans, elevations, and/or sketches

Eligibility

  • All are welcome to submit to Architecture After the Fires: LA in Progress
  • Works of any typology are accepted, and they invite submissions of in-progress projects as well as speculative or research-oriented works.

Prizes

  • Selected projects will be displayed in an open gallery format from October 3-5 in W.M. Keck Lecture Hall and its adjacent galleries at SCI-Arc.
