TerraViva launches Brise-Vent Havre, a new architecture competition that aims to design a one-of-a-kind Museum facing the port of Le Havre, France, with the ambitious goal of recovering this forgotten concrete structure. As the gigantic grey sail no longer serves its original purpose of shielding the harbour from wind gusts, the time to envision an urban regeneration project has finally come. Its adaptation to a contemporary program would allow the city to get back an extraordinary public space, currently abandoned to itself.
Brise-Vent Havre requires full attention to the social aspects of the proposal, encouraging designers to work on a hybrid program linked to an everyday use, open both to the local community and international tourists. How would it be possible to transform this captivating ruin into a cultural hub open seven days a week?

Brise-Vent Havre 2024 is open to architects, interior designers, students, enthusiasts, engineers, artists, makers and anyone interested in the fields of architecture and urban regeneration. Participants can join the competition either individually or with a team.
