Furniture and lighting from Milan, new directions in architecture and urbanism, Sydney’s Fish Market, Toronto’s LRT line and more — the Spring 2026 Issue of Azure focuses on products and perspectives across scales.

The CCC recognizes the challenges young Canadian designers face in establishing themselves. Through in-depth interviews with successful Canadian design studios, we identified the need for catalysts at different stages of design careers. With this Award, the CCC aims to provide meaningful opportunities for young designers: to present their work to the wider design community, showcase their projects, connect with the industry, expand their professional networks, and, most importantly, receive industry-recognized validation of their talent and the quality of their work through a qualified jury. The CCC believes this recognition will help young creators access more grants, residencies, job opportunities, and international awards.

The Jury for the CCC Emerging Design Awards 2026 is composed of five internationally-recognized industry professionals, including both design professionals and industry support actors from media and PR, practicing in Italy, France, the UK, South Korea, the USA and Mexico.

The Jury Members are:

Philippe Malouin (Canada/ United Kingdom)
Anna Caradeuc  (Italy/ France/ USA)
Kwangho Lee (South Korea)
Laura May Todd (Canada/  Italy)
Manuel Bañó (Spain/ Mexico)

To be eligible, entrants must be based in Canada. Canadian citizens whose practice is primarily based outside of Canada (i.e., business registered and living abroad) are not eligible.

All applicants must not exceed six (6) years of independent practice. Independent practice is defined as from the founding of one’s own practice, whether it is the creation of a studio or a company, or working as a self-employed worker.

The Award is open to both individuals and design teams (in which case, all team members must meet the eligibility criteria).

To be eligible in the Student category, applicants must be in the process of completing a university education in architecture, design, or a related discipline. Graduation in 2026 qualifies.
