The Ceramics of Italy International Tile Competition is now open for entries. This year marks a major milestone for the program, as Ceramics of Italy’s two long-standing competitions — the 30-year North American Design Competition and the 11-year La Ceramica e il Progetto based in Italy — are now joining forces to recognize the best projects featuring Italian ceramic and porcelain tile on a global scale.
For the first time, the program will expand the competition to architects and interior designers worldwide, honouring projects that utilize ceramic and porcelain tile from Ceramics of Italy member brands. Chaired by Steve Clem, Principal of Atlanta-based firm TVS, an esteemed international jury will select winners across four categories — Residential, Commercial, Design & New Applications, and Outdoor — based on the technical, aesthetic and sustainable attributes of each project, as well as the amount of Italian tile used. Past winners of each competition feature esteemed firms such as HDR, Rockwell Group, Gensler, Snøhetta, Boeri Studio, Archea Associati, Asti Architetti and noa* network of architecture.
Awards
Selected winners will receive a CEU-accredited trip to Bologna, Italy, for Cersaie 2026 (September 21–25), where they will be honoured at a dedicated VIP awards ceremony, plus cash prizes. There is no fee to submit, and multiple entries are welcome.
