The UIA – HYP Architecture Students Cup 2025 invites students worldwide to reimagine forgotten or overlooked spaces as sites of transformation. This competition asks students to uncover, reclaim and transform the “nooks and crannies” of the environment — tiny leftover spaces, neglected corners and undefined gaps in the urban fabric. The UIA – HYP Architecture Students Cup calls for grounded, design-oriented solutions that embrace everyday life, social dynamics and poetic possibility. Participants are free to pick a site of their choice or re-use an old project.
Submission Requirements
- 3 horizontal A1 boards
- 1 animated presentation/ video (max 2 minutes, subtitled in English)
- Plans, axonometries, sections, perspectives encouraged
- Cite existing data and clearly label any AI-generated material
Eligibility
- Full-time students of architecture and related disciplines (Bachelors, Masters, PhD), individually or in teams (max 4 people + 2 advisors)
Prizes
- 1st Prize (x1 team): 9,000€
- 2nd Prize (x5 teams): 1,800€
- 3rd Prize (x12 teams): 900€
- Honourable Mentions: Certificate
