This March, Jamie Stern Furniture, Carpet, Leather & Fabric announces the kick off of their third annual Jamie Stern Furniture Design Contest 2026, calling on interior designers to submit their dream lounge chair for a chance to win a prototype produced by Jamie Stern. Running now through April 27 and open to all professional designers in the United States and Canada, Jamie Stern encourages participants to embrace their creativity and craft their ideal fully upholstered chair designs, whether it be a twist on a classic silhouette or a unique sculptural shape. 

Brief

All entries will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges comprised of three award-winning design professionals: Silvia Castañeda, Associate and senior designer at Rockwell Group Los Angeles Studio, Patricia Lopez, Principal at Baskerville and Sara Talleux, Associate Principal at KTGY Chicago.
Two grand prize winners selected by the judges will receive a fully upholstered, finished prototype of their design, with the potential for their piece to be produced and sold through Jamie Stern.

Submission Guidelines

Plans can be submitted in the form of a CAD drawing, 3-D rendering or pencil sketch with noted dimensions alongside a short written design intent statement describing the details on what makes it special. Submissions are open online from March 17, 2025 – April 27, 2025.
