The Quarry Concert Hall Design competition calls all visionary architects and eco-conscious designers to design a sustainable Concert Hall that provides a unique architectural experience for visitors. Revolutionize public architecture with this completely timber structure that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding landscaping providing restorative healing to the dramatic, industrial landscape of the quarry as it returns to its natural state.
The objective of this Quarry Concert Hall Design Competition is to challenge and inspire participants to envision and design a cutting-edge concert venue that minimizes its environmental footprint while delivering exceptional acoustic and visual experiences, setting a new standard for eco-conscious entertainment spaces. The primary goal is to revitalize the site by encouraging native ecosystems and habitats to return, while creating a harmonious coexistence between nature and humans using one.
Three different stone quarries from around the United Kingdom, located in protected Natural Parks, are available to choose from. You may select any one of these sites to use as the basis of your project.
