The Tapestry Design Prize for Architects is a unique international $10,000 award that encourages innovation and visionary thinking by challenging architects to design contemporary tapestries.
The site for the 2021 design challenge is the multi-award winning Phoenix Central Park designed by John Wardle Architects and Durbach Block Jaggers. Applicants have a choice of three sites across the integrated art gallery, performance space and garden.
Eligibility
- Open worldwide to architects, architectural graduates, architectural students and multidisciplinary design groups (with at least one architect, architectural graduate or architectural student representative).
- Entries may be submitted by individuals, companies, individuals working within companies and small groups of collaborators.
- The Applicant/s may submit up to three tapestry designs.
- Please note a separate Entry form is required for each design.
- All Applicants listed on an Entry must 18 years of age or over at the date of entry
Submission Requirements
- Title of Tapestry Design
- A brief description of your tapestry design. What did you create, and why? (max 200 words)
- An outline of material and construction considerations
undertaken in the creation of your tapestry design.
(max 200 words) - Up to three high resolution (300 dpi jpgs) images of your design. Each image file may be up to 10 MB.
- Image 1 should be an Image of the tapestry design only.
- Images 2 and 3 may include a render of the tapestry in situ or
other support images. - You will need to specify which design site at Phoenix Central Park you choose for your tapestry design out of SITE 1: Basement Gallery, SITE 2: Double Height Gallery and SITE 3: Top Floor Gallery
