Founded in 1997 by David Leven and Stella Betts, LEVENBETTS is a New York City and Hudson, New York-based architecture firm committed to creating public spaces that are, in their own words, “welcoming, free, carbon-positive.” This mission is reflected in a portfolio that spans civic, cultural, and residential projects with a focus on libraries, museums, and housing. They include the Taystee Life Sciences Building, a 300,000 square-foot LEED Silver laboratory and research building in Harlem with a public pass-through garden from 125th Street to 126th Street and an award-winning renovation to East Flatbush Library that includes the addition of central skylights and differentiated programming spaces for adults and children.

The talk takes place at the firm’s studio and is part of the After Hours program (formerly First Fridays) by the Architectural League, which allows members to visit the offices of leading design practices and see work on the boards.
