Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea presents the simultaneous solo exhibitions of Arduino Cantàfora and Silvia Negrini, both curated by Ivan Quaroni. These two distinct exhibitions showcase two painters who share a vision of evocative landscapes, analytical knowledge of forms, and an analogical representation of objects, despite being generations apart.
In the main rooms of the gallery, the solo exhibition Anamnesis by Arduino Cantàfora unfolds through paintings. These works convey a conception of drawing as “memory” upon which new imaginaries are built. Cantàfora’s painting is strongly influenced by his “realist” and Caravaggesque training.
Simultaneously, in the Magic Bus project room, Silvia Negrini’s solo exhibition Densamente Spopolato presents a research that never renounces figurative representation. Despite its minimalism and concision, it stops at the threshold of pure abstraction. A language that conditions representation and confines it within a grammar dominated by geometric and perspective rigor.
