The Buildings Show’s roundtable focuses on adaptive re-use and will explore strategies around the world, focusing on balancing the preservation of architectural heritage with modern needs.
Adaptive reuse offers a way to eliminate waste, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce embodied carbon by reusing existing structures. Beyond its environmental impact, this approach positively influences social, cultural, and economic aspects across various building types, from housing to cultural spaces.
This talk will feature a welcome by OAA President Settimo Vilardi, and will be moderated by architectural writer and critic Adele Weder. The panelists are: Andrew Lee of SOM (U.S. and Canada), Wonne Ickz of Productora, (Mexico), Philip Evans of ERA Architects (Canada), and Marcela Steinbachová of Skupina (Czechia).
