Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Interior Design (SID) Year End Show 2023 is an exhibition celebrating the hard work and dedication that students have put into their projects over the past academic year. This year’s showcase is titled POV.

As designers, we have a unique ability to visualize and interpret different spaces, reframing spatial perception and intention. Through a multitude of drawing conventions, we can visually compose a narrative within an interior. Whether it be through isometric line drawings, carefully composed renders, or technical construction packages, each frame of reference plays a pertinent role in telling the story of a space. However, we must also ask how differing perspectives shape the ways we experience interiors, lending emotion to each space that we create.

At SID, students collaborate, communicate and convey varying perspectives to achieve a holistic design. The practice of interior design allows us to experience space from another’s perspective, communicating in a language we all speak.
