AECOM is hiring an Architect with 2+ years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in Calgary, Canada, with the flexibility to work remotely. This is an opportunity to lead project coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal to AECOM and external. AECOM is looking for someone with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations and develop studies, programs, concepts, preliminary and final plans, drawings, specifications, and reports for projects of varying type and scale.
- Prepare, review, and approve drawings, specifications, and related documentation to ensure compliance with client requirements, local codes, standards, and AECOM processes.
- Coordinate technical and administrative activities with other disciplines, departments, clients, and authorities to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups; assist in the training and evaluation of architectural and drafting personnel.
- Independently perform advanced technical assignments under the direction of the Supervising Architect, managing tasks within approved schedules and budgets.
- Apply strong technical knowledge to document review, inter-disciplinary coordination, and quality assurance.
- Proactively identify and advocate for process and procedural improvements.
Qualifications
- No less than a University Degree in Architecture + Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA.
- Preference for those with over two years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA, experience with Science & Technology laboratories and facilities is a definite asset.
- LEED certification and familiarity with AAA/AIBC/OAQ/AIA are highly regarded.
- Proficiency in REVIT, BIM, MS Office, Adobe Suite, and strong communication abilities are essential.
