We are searching for a talented Junior Graphic Designer to join our team and support Projects & Infographics within IBI Group’s Placemaking Studio. You will need to be local to the Toronto office and able to work remotely until we return to the office
This exciting opportunity will bring an individual with both graphic and placemaking knowledge to our Studio, which focuses on Urban Design and Landscape Architectural projects ranging from Master Planning, Transit Oriented Development, Built Form Studies, Public Realm Design, Streetscape Design, Landscape Design on both a local and international scale.
Our multi-disciplinary Placemaking practice produces long-term strategies that position communities for success in every aspect of the urban experience—from day-to-day living, learning and health, to major transportation and infrastructural growth.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment where cooperation, a keen attention to detail and exemplary graphic and written communication skills will aid our team in producing high quality outcomes for our Clients. The successful candidate will participate in delivering high quality graphics required for reports, presentations and promotional materials, ensuring the context is designed to convey information in a clear and visually engaging manner.
Most of the things you’ll work on:
- Work under the direction of a project team leader and coordinate with a wider project team
- Develop high quality infographics, presentations, reports, posters, etc.
- Attend project meetings and design visual content in collaboration with various stakeholders
- Participate in the creation and design of presentations and promotional materials to advance the Placemaking Studio
- Exercise creativity and innovative thinking in the creation of high-quality graphic templates and reports
- Prepare, coordinate and develop materials for production
- Utilize strong communication skills, both visually and written, to convey ideas
- Ensure that a high level of professionalism and quality is communicated through layout and the use of visuals
Desired skills & experienced:
- First, and foremost, a creative eye, with a passion for design and a desire to collaborate to create high quality graphics that innovate and inspire
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum 2 years of graphic design experience
- Must be proficient with and have hands on work experience in the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong proficiencies in Microsoft PowerPoint, with knowledge of full Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Previous experience in or knowledge of Placemaking practices is heavily favored
- Relevant experience in graphic design that highlights the ability to think and communicate creatively and efficiently manage the design and layout of complex, multi-page documents
- Ability to work independently and take initiative within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and effectively manage the timely delivery of work against short deadlines
- An enthusiastic attitude, passion for design excellence and strong work ethic
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work within multi-disciplinary Placemaking project teams
