Dubbeldam Inc. Architecture + Design is seeking a Junior-Intermediate level Intern Architect or Licensed Architect with a passion for design quality, sustainability, and the environment to join their Toronto office.
Dubbeldam is a design studio with a portfolio in architecture, interiors, landscape and installation projects, and they are behind various sustainability and community engagement initiatives such as Twenty + Change, Park(ing) Day Toronto, and The Next Green.
Qualifications
- 1 to 5 years post-graduate work experience
- Experience in small to medium-sized practices preferrable
- Strong design skills, high level of attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Experience producing and coordinating construction drawings & details
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of building systems and technology
- Thorough working experience with Ontario Building Code
- Knowledge and familiarity with local zoning and authority approval processes
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, responsible, and passionate about their work and the profession
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience & proficiency working in Revit is an asset
- Proficiency in 3D rendering software (SketchUp, Enscape)
- Solid working experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, Acrobat), Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office
- Experience managing projects and teams is an asset
- For more senior candidates, experience with delegating and supervising the work of other staff is an asset
- Previous experience working on LEED or Passive House projects is an asset
- LEED and/or WELL accreditation is an asset
Responsibilities
- Producing drawings in all phases of an architectural project (SD, DD, CD) including 3D models during design stages of projects with a high level of proficiency
- Coordinating architectural projects from Schematic Design to end of Construction Administration including overseeing the work of and/or collaborating with other team members to ensure high quality work and efficient use of resources
- Taking initiative and following through on a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, as well as successfully interacting with and taking direction from other more senior team members
- Corresponding with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and suppliers to obtain and promptly share information as needed to keep the project on track
- Tasks would include working on multiple projects at various stages and scales
