Mason Studio is searching for a talented and passionate Decorative Arts Designer to act as a key member of their Art + Culture team. A Decorative Arts Designer crafts compelling narratives by seamlessly integrating design, furniture, art, and decorative elements. They also revel in the details of managing the logistics and purchasing, creating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and ensuring seamless coordination to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Curating conceptual imagery and crafting a compelling narrative to guide the project’s stylistic direction.
  • Sourcing unique decorative art, accessories, and furniture to align with the creative and conceptual direction.
  • Developing spatial plans and creating elevation studies using CAD and Photoshop.
  • Designing custom accessories and OS&E to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality.
  • Coordinating with vendors and contractors to ensure timely deliveries and quality standards.
  • Tracking and managing inventory, purchase orders, and budgets to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborating with the design team to understand Mason Studio’s clients’ decorative arts design needs.
  • Styling and staging residential or hospitality spaces on-site, adding the final layer of polish and personality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of Design
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Art Consultancy, Interior Styling and/or Accessorizing
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit & Adobe Creative Suite
  • 3D software skills, such as Sketchup

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Art Curation
  • Working knowledge of the Interior Design profession and its connection to the decorative arts
  • Understanding of custom furniture and material application
  • Knowledge of the art and design worlds in the form of artists, craftspeople and makers
  • Understanding of the hospitality industry
