MJMA Architecture & Design is seeking an Experiential Graphic Designer to join their growing 80-person interdisciplinary Toronto studio, focused on design excellence in public projects. The successful candidate will work within the Signage, Wayfinding, and Experiential Design team and as part of the larger integrated design studio.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with studio leadership and design teams to develop interior and exterior signage and wayfinding packages
- Support place-making and visual identity strategies through environmental graphics and branding initiatives
- Reinforce the larger narrative of each project development
- Strengthen accessibility and inclusivity
- Bring experience in conceptual pitches to clients
- Develop design approaches in coordination with fabricators and installers
- Assemble working drawing sets and details
- Model, sketch or develop studies for concept options
- Oversee installation on site
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in a Graphic Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design or Architecture Program.
- Advanced use of Adobe Graphic Programs with literacy in modeling programs
- Familiarity with AODA, Accessibility and Building Code standards and guidelines related to signage in the built environment
- Both familiarity with and leading of the latest trends and innovations in fabrication processes, materials, pictograms and accessible thinking
- Passion for design excellence and innovation
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent motivation, organization, assertiveness and willingness to engage in office collaboration
