HOK is hiring a Project Architect with 5+ years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in St. Louis, USA. This is an opportunity to be responsible for the issuance and content of deliverables, technical content of HOK documents and coordination of disciplines including consultants and for the supervision of all staff producing documents. HOK is looking for someone that participates in and contributes to a culture of technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the overall design intent established by the Project Designer is executed through all project phases, from concept to construction administration.
- Lead technical resolution, drawing coordination, and documentation strategy, including BIM standards and project software setup.
- Collaborate with Specification Writers to develop and coordinate accurate drawings and specifications.
- Maintain quality assurance and control, ensuring all construction documentation meets industry standards and best practices.
- Foster strong communication with clients, consultants, vendors, and governing agencies to verify requirements and obtain approvals.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, provide technical guidance, and participate in professional development and “Lessons Learned” sessions.
- Coordinate electronic documentation and workflows across disciplines and teams, ensuring project progress and issue resolution.
- Conduct site visits, attend project meetings, and support contractor coordination, including review of shop drawings and schedules.
- Participate in budget reviews, schedule adherence, and integrated sustainable design implementation.
- Support client relationships and internal collaboration by contributing to presentations, project meetings, and team decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required (Master’s degree preferred)
- 5+ years of design experience.
- Licensed Architect with current registration in your region required, if licensure is offered in your region
- NCARB registration preferred
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred
- Travel may be required
- Overtime may be required
