Snøhetta is hiring a Project Designer with 5 to 10 years of professional, post-graduate Interior Architecture/Design experience. You’ll be based out of their office in New York City, New York. This is an opportunity for you to work on project teams to advance the successful completion of projects, tasks, and initiatives. Snøhetta is looking for a Project Designer who is committed to the creation and development of design and interior architecture from concept through execution.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and oversee design, coordination, and documentation processes, ensuring smooth collaboration with consultants.
  • Lead coordination with consultants, product reps, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
  • Guide selection and presentation of FF&E, colour palettes, and lighting.
  • Prepare finish plans, specifications, and materials for construction; support design execution.
  • Assist the Project Leader with scheduling, budgeting, and team task oversight.
  • Manage daily correspondence with consultants and the Owner’s representative.
  • Act as an emerging leader by demonstrating integrity, self awareness, and humility.
  • Adapt communication styles to different audiences and build emotional intelligence for strong collaboration.
  • Mentor and support team members’ professional development through active guidance.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Interior Architecture.
  • 5-10 years of professional, post-graduate Interior Architecture/Design experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite and Zoom.
  • Previous experience through all phases of design.
  • Strong knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, colour selections, and specifications.
  • Experience carrying projects through technical design preferred.
  • Experience working with a range of consultants and large project teams, including associate landscape, civil, electrical, traffic and structural engineers.
  • Experience with academic and/or performance space is especially valued.
