HKS Architects is hiring a Project Interior Designer with 8+ years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in Phoenix, USA. This is an opportunity to manages the firm’s resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude. HKS Architects is looking for someone with organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages design concepts, branding strategies, and interiors concepts based on client vision, architectural goals, and market positioning.
  • Leads and collaborates on all project phases, from programming and conceptual design through design development, documentation, and construction.
  • Produces and supervises detailed implementation documents, drawings, models, and schemes.
  • Manages interiors projects of varying sizes, including schedules, budgets, and program documents.
  • Communicates design requirements and solutions to clients, consultants, and contractors; coordinates across disciplines.
  • Develops innovative solutions to technical and design challenges; assists with cost estimates and product selections.
  • Coordinates and delivers client presentations, public hearings, RFIs, and submittals; negotiates on critical issues.
  • Maintains market knowledge through product presentations and industry research.
  • Leads or participates in team meetings and may prepare meeting minutes.

Qualifications

  • Accredited professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field
  • Typically 8+ years of experience
  • Advanced skills in Revit, Bluebeam, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; Twinmotion, Enscape, or other visualization tools.
  • Intermediate to advanced in Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo; AI design tools, VR (e.g., VR headsets, Yulio); MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of furniture specification software (basic) and Navisworks (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, integrated design guidelines, and building codes with ability to apply in technical documents.
  • Experience with FF&E to execute design intent.
  • Ability to manage teams with diplomatic, collaborative leadership; maintain and grow client relationships.
  • Skilled in presentations, organization, multitasking, problem-solving, and innovative solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate in team settings.
  • Advanced ability to meet deadlines with high quality in fast-paced environments; travel may be required.
