Reed Hilerbrand is hiring a Senior Designer with 3+ years of experience in landscape design. You’ll be based out of Reed Hilderbrand’s New Haven office. The Senior Designer at Reed Hilderbrand role involves pursuing project opportunities spanning academic and institutional landscapes, urban plazas and streetscapes, private residences and public parks. Reed Hilderbrand is looking for someone with conceptual thinking and exceptional graphic and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate conceptual design ideas independently, demonstrating strong creative and analytical thinking.
- Prepare design concepts using CAD (Vectorworks preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, and digital modeling/rendering software (Rhino, Lumion, etc.).
- Collaborate with team members on a range of project types including academic campuses, urban plazas, public parks, and private residential landscapes.
- Manage projects, coordinating design phases, deliverables, and client communications under the guidance of senior leadership.
- Contribute to a collaborative studio culture while advancing professional skills and knowledge through hands-on project work.
Qualifications
- Degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program.
- 3+ years of experience at a professional landscape architecture practice.
- Demonstrate the capacity to think conceptually and develop design ideas independently
- Exceptional graphic and verbal communication skills.
- Some experience with technical resolution of design ideas, including construction documentation and observation is preferred
- Proficiency in CAD (Vectorworks preferred), Adobe Creative Suite and digital modelling/rendering software (Rhino, Lumion, etc) is required.
