DIALOG is hiring a Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in Ottawa, Canada, with the flexibility to work remotely. This is an opportunity to tackle complex projects, use cutting-edge software, and collaborate. DIALOG is looking for someone who can work under pressure, manage deadlines and multiple tasks/projects.  

Responsibilities

• Act as a design engineer and project manager on a variety of building projects of various sizes and complexity. 
• Follow through all phases of projects from concept design through construction. 
• Provide the highest technical quality in the delivery of designs, drawings, specifications, and in the field. 
• Work with DIALOG’s robust Specifiers to develop construction specifications. 
• Work closely with architects, interior designers, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other partner firms. 
• Prepare contract documents to evaluate tenders. 
• Build relationships of trust with clients and other outside agencies. 
• Recruit, mentor and enable the next generation of structural engineers.
• Manage projects while working with limited supervision and participate in project planning. 
• Supervise and inspect the installation, modification, testing and operation of structural design. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering is required, Master’s Degree is preferred  
• Registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO or another provincial engineering association  
• 10+ years of experience designing buildings is required 
• LEED accreditation is considered an asset  
• An articulate and persuasive communicator that can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical firm leaders, staff and clients
