When devising the Akner wall fixture, designer and Studio Luddite founder Lex Zee explored the concept of lighting as adornment, looking to jewellery for inspiration: Individually cast brass beads are strung on a tensioned steel cable like a necklace and suspended in the air like dramatic, sculptural earrings. Concealed by the curved glass shade, the light source reflects a soft glow downward to highlight the details of the fixture.
