Italian designer and founder of Promemoria Romeo Sozzi has resurrected and reinterpreted a treasured piece from his company’s historical archives: The updated Amarcord Big cabinet maintains the original 1998 version’s overall essence but scales up the dimensions of its parallelepiped modules.
Crafted using ancient cabinetry techniques from quality fine materials, the modular dual-volume storage cabinet was inspired by the 1975 movie of the same by renowned Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini.
With an internal structure made from wood, Amarcord Big (like its predecessor) can have wood or hammered bronze doors (along with other options), which in turn can feature built-in or bronze handles. The graphic latticework-like motif was inspired by traditional mashrabiya designs.
Part of Promemoria’s Magica Alchimia collection, the new Amarcord Big cabinet can be equipped with optional leather shelves and a leather-fronted drawer on the inside; integrated LEDs illuminate the interior.
