Merenda Wallpaper, founded in 2006 by Sarah Merenda, is known for its stunning and sometimes quirky wallpaper, with patterns often inspired by nature, sensuality and the urban environment — and the recently released Arise wallpaper collection is no different.
Based on original artwork by Merenda and injected with fresh perspectives on the dynamic energy of nature, the five patterns in the Arise wallpaper collection – Banana Palm Dream, Hydrangea Garden, Let’s Dance, Lightning and Thunder – depict vibrant geometric and botanical motifs and are suitable for installation in private residences as well as hotels, restaurants, offices, retail stores and more.
Inspired by the graceful curves of banana leaves found at Pennsylvania’s Longwood Gardens, Banana Palm Dream evokes sun-drenched landscapes and feelings of tranquility and vitality with a rhythmic allure and tropical foliage colour palette. In six colourways: Walt Whitman, Bahama Mama, William, Brittany and Naomi.
With Hydrangea Garden, fluid and expressive brushstrokes form a tapestry of blooming nature. Inspired by the delicate petals of the flower that gives the pattern its name, the large-scale design brings enchantment and wonder to interior spaces. Highly energetic and full of movement, Let’s Dance was inspired by the unique artistry of the 1980s, with a specific nod to the artwork of Keith Haring and an illustration by Max Kahan (Merenda’s partner). Bold and gestural pen strokes orchestrate a symphony of colour and shapes reminiscent of neon lights. Available in 10 colourways: Robocop, Mosh, Breakin, Kriss Kross, The Butterfly, The Cabbage Patch, The Moonwalk, The Percolator, The Robot and The Worm.
The complementary Lightning and Thunder riff on Merenda’s sketches of dancing lightning bolts and whimsical geometrics and infuse rooms with contrasting pops of bold colours and jagged forms. Much like nature’s electric storms, the patterns are dynamic and captivating. Lightning is available in eight colourways: Superman, Batman, Quicksilver, Storm, Potter, Elektra and Blossom; Thunder is available in eight colourways: Flash, Vision, Captain America, Cyndi Lauper, Thor, Electro, Blue Flowers and Green Lantern.
The Arise collection is available on Merenda Wallpaper’s eco-smooth and eco-textured substrates, which are PVC-free and made from non-woven fibres and responsibly sourced wood pulp.
