The recently launched Bilia Mini Portable lamp from FontanaArte brings a new format to the iconic lamp originally designed by Gio Ponti in 1932.
Maintaining the charisma of its compact proportions and the magic of its composition — a frosted glass sphere that seems to balance effortlessly on its cone-shaped base — the Bilia Mini Portable lamp has been renewed using wireless technology.
Staying true to a scaled-down version that Ponti drafted while conceiving the original design, the Bilia Mini Portable lamp from FontantaArte expresses the same illusion of lightness and perfection. Considered a perfect interplay between two geometric forms, the lamp was a profound example of purity and sophisticated simplicity.
Now equipped with rechargeable technology, the Bilia Mini Portable supports constraint-free freedom of movement, which transforms illumination into a refined and dynamic experience. Merging heritage with modern-day innovation, the lamp makes a perfect companion at home or the office and can also be transported outdoors to illuminate terraces and patios.
The Bilia Mini Portable lamp is composed of an opaline blown-glass orb that diffuses a warm and steady light and a chic metal cone base in four signature finishes — Polished Gold, Bright Chrome, Warm Copper and Elegant Black — along with two new options developed for the portable version, Matte White and Matte Black.
These newly introduced hues resurrect Ponti’s idea for “spray colours” that highlight the lamp’s clean lines and appeal to those wanting a minimal and modernist look. A three-level dimmable switch controls the lighting levels of the Bilia Mini Portable, which offers a luminous flux of 260 lumens with 1.8 W total power.
