Spanish design studio MUT has released its first-ever collaboration with Valencia-based furniture-maker Omelette Editions. Bolet is a seating collection that masterfully melds the designers’ fascination for the natural world with their affection for classic design.
Bolet – named after the Catalan word for “mushroom” – is charming in form, with its inverted coffee cup structure creating an invitation to sit and linger. Its informal elegance is highlighted through the tiniest of details, not least of which is a small elongated pill-shaped button.
A contemporary take on quilting, the accents central placement ties the design together visually and functionally.
Compact in overall size, Bolet can easily be tucked into a corner but will also make a curious presence as a set of two in the middle of a room, or anywhere a comfortable and well-made armchair is needed.
