This alternative concrete is made with steel slag — a waste byproduct of steel-making — instead of cement. By using carbon dioxide to cure the final mix, Quebec manufacturer CarbiCrete consumes more carbon than it produces, generating fewer emissions and a product that is 30 per cent stronger and more affordable than other offerings.
