Designed in partnership between Italian architect Chiara Caberlon and Milanese designer Marco Forbicioni, the Clara outdoor lantern from Contardi was inspired by the idea of “bringing the light with you, wherever you go.”
A refined take on the classic outdoor lantern, Clara’s glass body is wrapped in a resin coating that has the look of Venetian straw, a material and effect borrowed from the indoor seating of the Bauhaus period. The diffuser’s caning effect enhances the warm ambiance of the illumination that the outdoor lantern emits.
Clara’s portability is thanks to a sculpted metal ring (in lacquered matte white or painted bronze) that sits atop the structure and allows the light to be hung or easily transported. The body is integrated with a USB-C port to recharge the battery, which has a lifespan of up to eight hours.
The Clara outdoor lantern comes in three sizes; the medium and large versions boast a removable light source (attached to the magnetic ring-handle), which can be used as a lightweight and portable hand torch.
Ensuring uniform 360-degree light distribution, the Clara outdoor lantern makes a handsome and versatile addition to gardens, terraces, indoor and outdoor dining and living spaces in private residences as well as resorts, hotels and restaurants.
