The recently released ColorBurst collection from ekoa – the California-based brand that specializes in architectural wallcoverings made from rapidly renewable flax – expands the company’s portfolio of available shades to include 40 new hues.
Delivering deep, saturated tones to the high-performance surface coverings, the ColorBurst collection from ekoa amplifies the universal appeal without compromising the low environmental impact or healthy indoor air profile of the material.
To create the 40 hues within the ColorBurst collection from Ekoa, the colour is integrated with the long, unidirectional flax fibres, which ensures the non-repeating grain stays readable as opposed to being masked by the colour saturation. Attuned to the flax fibres natural golden tone and texture, the new colour introductions have depth and richness rather than a flat, painted appearance.
Organized in eight colour families – Reds, Oranges, Yellows, Greens, Teals, Blues, Purples and Pinks (plus neural Greys) – the ColorBurst collection from Ekoa infuses walls, ceilings, millwork and other surfaces with bright, low-VOC tones; the applied coverings can be used to create statement walls as well as wayfinding, branding and more.
Five hues are available under the Reds umbrella (Sangria, Pomegranate, Cardinal, Boysenberry and Tomato), each reading as refined and full of vibrant personality; the Oranges category includes seven options (Carnelian, Fox, Paprika, Persimmon, Poppy, Tangelo and Tiger) that run from sun-baked to rusty.
The three tones within the Yellows (Citron, Dijon and Saffron) deliver a radiant tonal punch; while the six Greens (Bamboo, Crocodile, Emerald, Jade, Parrot and Peapod) add leafy and jewel tones to the ColorBurst collection from ekoa.
In the Teals section, the three tones (Glacier, Ocean and Canopy) blend the chromatic brilliance of seas and trees; and with the Blues, the six tones (Cerulean, Sapphire, Denim, Cobalt, Mariana and Midnight) are cool and impart a grounding effect.
Finally, the ColorBurst collection from ekoa includes three shades in the Purples category (Wildberry, Mulberry and Plum) that pack a deep, statement-making punch; and the three Pinks (Azalea, Fuchsia and Hibiscus) are both playful and powerful.
A fully bio-based material, ekoa’s coverings blend the rapidly renewable flax with a bio-based resin that contains no petroleum ingredients. The hardy material is impact- and stain-resistant, bleach cleanable and able to be applied to curved surfaces like columns, corners and millwork.
