Dinesen’s pale Douglas Natural fir flooring contributes to the serene atmosphere of this North London renovation by local design firm Studio Merlin. Each of the project’s 25-by-300-centimetre boards (cut shorter for the staircase shown) is treated with a starkly beautiful lye and white soap finish.
