Designed by Erla Dögg Ingjaldsdóttir and Tryggvi Thorsteinsson, founders of Santa Monica-based architecture firm Minarc, the DROPi hanging chair brings perpetual motion to interior spaces.
Hand-crafted using durable and high-functioning Sunbrella canvas, DROPi is intended as an unexpected yet super-comfortable seating option in private residences, hotel lobbies, open-spaces in workspaces and more.
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, DROPi by Minarc is a commercial-grade swinging seat that lets users float, sway or gently swing in place. The sturdy curved seat is made from moulded metal and is enveloped in yards of vibrantly coloured fabric, which creates a cocooning effect.
DROPi’s distinct silhouette instills a sense of playfulness and energy, while the blanketing material helps deflect and absorb ambient noise to provide a peaceful moment of respite. Suspended from powder-coated alloy hardware, DROPi by Minarc is safely and securely affixed to ceilings or beams; it can also be installed on terraces, porches, decks, patios and balconies.
The selection of bold colourways the hanging chair’s Sunbrella fabric portion is available in are Lemon (yellow), Rain (blue), Lava (red), Licorice (black) and Skyr (white); the metal and upholstered seat base are offered in the same vibrant palette to allow for uniform and seamless looks.
