Originally designed by renowned interior designer Joseph D’Urso in 1980, the D’Urso occasional table from Knoll was recently reintroduced to the market.

Expressing the designer’s signature blend of functionalism and minimalism, the D’Urso occasional table from Knoll is at once simple and elegant and was inspired by the high-tech design movement of the 1970s.

Made with hardy industrial materials — welded steel and tempered glass — the clean lines and familiar shape of the D’Urso occasional table speak to the designer’s preference for objects that appear more engineered than overly styled.

As with the original design, the new iteration from Knoll features an open lower shelf that provides a spot for both storage and display for books and other objects, effectively serving as a secondary tabletop that can keep the top surface free from clutter.

Set on concealed casters, the positioning of the table can be easily adjusted or it can be moved out of the way when necessary.

The D’Urso occasional table is offered in three sizes (small, medium and large) and the welded steel construction can be polished or painted in a high-gloss black or crimson, while the glass top-surface can be selected as clear, wired or black-painted.
