With Gather, a modular seating system, people are brought together through comfort and adaptability. Part of the Escofet furniture expansion from Landscape Forms, the benching is sinuous, fluid and organically formed, with linear, concave, convex and end modules that can be arranged together in a variety of configurations including enclosed “pocket spaces,” straight-run benches and seating that encircles green islands.
Petra, meanwhile, is comprised of three monolithic concrete forms that are inspired by the natural beauty of water-sculpted stones. Providing unconventional communal seating and meeting points, the fluid forms are friendly and approachable, inviting people to linger, converse and relax.
Also a part of the Escofet furniture expansion from Landscape Forms, Wave is series of undulating platforms that support both sitting and reclining, allowing people to soak in some sunshine or star gaze well into the night. Optional LEDs can be integrated, which give the fluidly formed benches the illusion of floating in place.
The other three pieces in the expansion are Serp, a modular backless bench and wall system that includes six rounded forms in different sizes that can be combined in countless ways; the minimalist Soc, a collection of three cylindrical urban elements that provide seating, delineation, wayfinding and gathering spots; and Tiers (a collaboration with Foster + Partners Industrial Design), a layered seating series that consists of a bench, a table/perch, a high-top table and a single-person stool.
