The first collaboration between Michigan’s Grand Rapids Chair Co and Oslo-based Gridy studio, the Ferdinand seating series exemplifies Scandinavian design sensibilities, and is the first product developed by the Norwegian designers specifically for the North American market.

Made from metal, the sturdy yet simply shaped frame of the chairs and stools has a back-bar detail inspired by the horns of the collection’s namesake – the flower-loving children’s character Ferdinand the Bull.

Mixing materials, the pieces can be configured with a wood seat and back, an upholstered seat and wood back or with both seat and back upholstered. Twenty-nine standard powder-coated colourways are offered for the metal frame (plus more than 150 premium colours available upon request); wood elements come in 16 standard finishes; and a wide range of commercial textiles are available for the upholstered components.
