The AZURE Houses issue returns in 2026 with stunning, innovative residential projects from Canada and around the world. Plus, we take a look at that seeming relic of the past: the mall.

Flaming Stars lamps Natascha Madeiski

Designed by London-based multidisciplinary artist Natascha Madeiski, the Flaming Stars lighting collection for Pulpo includes seven quirky sculptural ceramic table lamps.

An energetic homage to both Memphis design and Memphis music, the fixtures are named for Elvis Presley songs and combine unique hand-made shapes in unexpected ways.

When creating the series, Madeiski experimented with and referenced several different objects to achieve the curious forms, from a modelling balloon and plastic funnels to random material off-cuts and even home-baked bread.

Each dimmable lamp is handmade from gloss-glazed ceramic using a slip-casting technique, which results in unique streaks and variations in colour and size, making the fixtures individually distinct from one another.

The 1980s-inspired colour palette combines pastels with more vibrant hues, and there is also a special-edition glazed silver option.
