When conceiving his Giro outdoor collection for Kettal, Belgian designer Vincent Van Duysen was inspired by the humble rope. Rather than using the natural material, however, Van Duysen opted for sustainable and recycled polypropylene.
The highly durable material has flexibility and texture, resulting in a comfortable and inviting series in both look and feel. Working with Kettal-developed technology, the designer paid significant attention to the details — the twist of the rope, its thickness, stitching and sewing — to create a sturdy webbing that is wrapped around a slender teak wood frame.
Kettal’s Giro collection includes armchairs and coffee tables and is suitable for use outdoors and indoors.
