Named for the industrial steel beam, the HEB tables series from +Halle was designed by Copenhagen-based furniture, product and interior design studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen.
Described by Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen as “multi-coloured sculptures,” the HEB table from +Halle are versatile and expressive, and make a playful and functional addition to any setting. The HEB tables come in a variety of heights and widths and can provide visual and social touchstones that encourage people to gather around.
The space-defining tables feature a recycled aluminum HEB beam that is cut-to-measure and paired with either a circular or square tabletop and a round disc base, creating a play between vertical and horizontal elements.
Ranging from small side tables to counter-height to coffee tables and dining tables for both indoors and outdoors, the charming and elegant HEB table series can be specified with a mix-and-match palette of colours and materials to suit certain aesthetic settings.
With the indoor versions, tabletops are made from laminated chipboard with a black paper underside and ABS edge banding and can be any one of seven high-gloss colourways: Black, Grey, Dark Red, Red, Dark Blue, Blue and Cream. The edge band can be selected to match or contrast the tabletop, as can the aluminum HEB beam base and steel disc base, to create monochrome or multi-tone expressions.
For the outdoor versions, the recycled aluminum HEB beams and steel disc base can be IGP lacquered (powder-coated) in any one of the same seven high-gloss colourways, while the tabletop is also made from aluminum for better durability.
Studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen – which was founded by Emil Krøyer and Mads Sætter-Lassen – devised the HEB table series for +Halle as part of its exploration of how to better use available resources and simplify production processes – in this case transforming a standard HEB beam into a new serviceable context.
