With the new Join and Mending textiles from Designtex, Nanimarquina delivers its first-ever textile collection – and marks Designtex’s first-ever collaboration with another brand. Born from a shared belief in the inherent beauty in imperfection and the hand-crafted, the two textiles bring nuance and elegance to high-performance commercial fabrics.
A study in rhythm, repair and restraint, Join and Mending from Designtex exemplify Nanimarquina’s dedication to craftsmanship and material sensibility. Made from performance yarn with intentional imperfections in the weaving process, the two textiles have a charm and personality all their own.
Composed of offset yet balanced stripes, Join is reminiscent of piano keys with a pattern that is slightly irregular, softly structured and seemingly in motion. A recurring language of Nanimarquina’s, the stripes are staggered to offer a quiet rhythm that is unpredictable but inherently harmonious. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, Join from Designtex introduces understated texture to both natural and built environments. Made from 100 per cent polyester (post-consumer recycled), Join is available in three colours: Perla, Bosc and Mar.
A meditation on care and connection, the high-performance Mending celebrates the subtle beauty of visible repair. The pattern was inspired by the humble act of stitching as a way to hold things together, and reflects a structured grid of woven patch motifs with subtle irregularities and a softened palette. Made from 100 per cent polyester, Mending is available in four colours: Cel, Roca, Sorra and Terra.
For Join and Mending from Designtex, Nanimarquina developed a colour story drawn from the natural world, including hues from weather, water, stones, plants and the shifting Mediterranean landscape, including the way moonlight plays on the sea.
